LAURYN WITHNELL

About

Lauryn Withnell is a New York-based actor, singer, dancer and graduate of The Boston Conservatory at Berklee (BFA Musical Theatre with dance emphasis). Born in Toronto into a musical family, she made her debut in the family band at age six.

She most recently criss-crossed the U.S. on the 40-city, 15-month Broadway national tour of Mrs. Doubtfire the Musical, working under the direction of Tony Award-winner Jerry Zaks. Other recent credits include Cabaret, West Side Story, Matilda, Pippin and coveted roles as Cassie, Marilyn Monroe, Carole King, Elsa, Ariel, and Belle Disney princesses. She has also worked with with Academy Awards director Otis Sallid and superstar choreographer Jessica Castro, has danced for Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliott, Broadway star Constantine Maroulis and sung with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. As an Artist on Board with VIA Rail, she brought music in motion to passengers across Canada.

Her love of storytelling began with a well-worn VHS of Peter Pan—watched on loop with her sister—and that childhood spark has never faded. Today, that same sense of wonder, curiosity, and boundless imagination continues to fuel her passion, inspiring the next generation of performers through master classes, choreographing and leading theatre workshops. Her creativity also spills over into video projects, costuming, scouring vintage stores, songwriting, and cooking for friends.
